About
A Journey of Buddhism, Education, Mindfulness, and Life
Welcome to Pov Socheat Buddhism & Life.
My name is Pov Socheat. I am a Cambodian Buddhist monk and educator. Through this website, I share Buddhist teachings, meditation and mindfulness practices, life reflections, education, Cambodian culture, and meaningful conversations about the questions we face in everyday life.
My intention is simple: to make Buddhist wisdom understandable, practical, and relevant to everyday life.
Buddhism is not only something we study from books. It is also something we can experience through the way we think, speak, act, and understand ourselves and others.
Through my teaching, I encourage people to pause, reflect, ask questions, and look more deeply into their own experience.

Buddhism for Everyday Life
Sometimes we may ask:
Why do we suffer?
Why is it difficult to let go?
Why do relationships sometimes hurt?
How can we become more peaceful?
How can we understand ourselves better?
What does Buddhism teach us about happiness?
These are not only religious questions. They are human questions.
Buddhist teachings can give us a way to look at these questions with greater awareness, compassion, wisdom, and understanding.
My approach is to connect Buddhist teachings with real situations that people experience in their daily lives.
Meditation and Mindfulness
Meditation is an important part of my teaching.
I welcome people who would like to learn meditation, whether they are completely new to meditation or already have some experience.
Meditation can help us learn to observe the mind, understand our thoughts and emotions, develop awareness, and cultivate greater calm and clarity.
I offer guidance for both Cambodian students and international students, depending on their learning needs and circumstances.
The purpose is not simply to sit quietly. It is to develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and learn how mindfulness can become part of everyday life.
Welcoming International Students
One of the meaningful parts of my work is welcoming foreign and international students who are interested in learning about Buddhism and Cambodian culture.
Students may come with different backgrounds, languages, cultures, and beliefs. I believe that learning can become especially meaningful when people meet with openness, respect, and curiosity.
Through conversations and learning experiences, international students can explore:
- Buddhist teachings
- Meditation and mindfulness
- Cambodian Buddhist traditions
- Cambodian culture
- Temple life
- Khmer traditions and stories
- Buddhism in Cambodia
- Everyday Cambodian life and culture
I also welcome opportunities to communicate with students in English, making Buddhist teachings and Cambodian culture more accessible to people from different parts of the world.
Buddhism and Education
Education is an important part of my work.
I believe education is not only about gaining knowledge. It is also about developing understanding, responsibility, kindness, discipline, and wisdom.
My teaching connects Buddhist principles with education and everyday life.
I hope to encourage students to become thoughtful learners who can ask meaningful questions, listen to others, reflect on their experiences, and continue learning throughout life.
Cambodian Culture
Cambodia has a rich cultural and Buddhist heritage.
Through this website, I also share aspects of Cambodian culture, traditions, stories, and Buddhist practices.
For international students and visitors, learning about Cambodia can be more meaningful when culture is understood through real people, conversations, traditions, and experiences.
I hope this website can become a bridge between Buddhist wisdom, Cambodian culture, education, and people from around the world.
Why I Created This Website
I created Pov Socheat Buddhism & Life as a place where people can come to learn, reflect, and connect.
Some visitors may come because they are interested in Buddhism.
Some may want to learn meditation.
Some may be looking for answers to questions about relationships, happiness, suffering, or life.
Some may want to learn about Cambodia.
Others may simply want to practice English through natural conversations about meaningful topics.
Whatever brings you here, I hope you find something useful.
My Approach
I do not believe that every question needs a complicated answer.
Sometimes, a simple question can help us see something differently.
Sometimes, we need to stop and listen to ourselves.
Sometimes, wisdom begins when we become willing to ask:
“What is really happening in my mind?”
Through Buddhist teachings, meditation, education, and everyday conversations, I hope to create a space where people can explore these questions together.
Learn. Reflect. Practice. Share.
This is the spirit of Pov Socheat Buddhism & Life.
Learn — develop understanding.
Reflect — look deeply at your experience.
Practice — bring wisdom and mindfulness into everyday life.
Share — learn from one another with kindness and respect.
Thank you for visiting.
May your learning bring understanding.
May your practice bring peace.
May your understanding bring kindness.
And may your journey continue with wisdom.
